They can turn out great or look god-awful (and permanent), plus they are very expensive. There is really only a few guys I would let do a photo tatt on me and they are both 3000+ miles away so the cost would be astronomical. The swallow tatts have a lot of meaning for me so they are almost a given (at some point) and I thought adding my kids' birth dates would make them even better. I have considered getting my kids infant footprints (we have good photos of them) at some point as well. It's much easier for an ink artist to do and costs a lot less. It also looks cool as hell.
